Hello everyone! Instead of doing the usual Friday’s Favourites or Tried and Tested segment this week, I thought I’d give you a little treat – a giveaway! Our first major one with a pool of prizes worth over $600.00. I know it’s not as big as what we’ve done for the last two giveaways, but I thought I’d start out small for our very first one. The theme is Love Thyself, because Valentines Day is near and hey, who better to love than ourselves first! So, the prizes in this giveaway is all about taking good care of yourselves. There are 11 packs to be won, meaning – 11 winners! So, don’t just sit there, read on to find out what we’ve got on offer.
- EcoStore – 3 x Body Packs rrp$129 (total)
You’ve heard me rave about the products from EcoStore in my final Friday’s Favourites and last week’s Friday’s Favourites. Love their products and the fact that they are not just eco-friendly, but human friendly too – and by that I mean no nasties that could harm our skin. There are 3 packs to giveaway, each to the value of approximately $43. In the pack we’ve got 1 x body lotion (200ml) , 1 x body butter (250g) and 1 x body wash (400ml).

Arbonne’s cosmetics range is a collection of lightweight formula that is great for your skin, eyes and lips. Using their exclusive Optilight Technology, it promises to help create a soft focus effect to blur imperfections and promote a healthy glow.

I rated this as one of the must-have items to survive the Summer heat and even if Summer is almost at its end, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a little bit of the tropics! - L’Occitane – Pleasure Pack rrp$86.90

What a way to delve into a night of decadence. With L’Occitane’s Cherry Blossom Petal-Soft Body Cream you can! A brand of products that was created by Olivier Baussan, L’Occitane create beauty products that are devoted to your well-being by bringing nature, research and phytotherapy together. With the new range from Avon, you know that you can slow down the ageing process on your skin. The Genics range is designed to help you reclaim up to 10 years of visible youth. As tested by 2,500 women, over 200 scientists have worked together using the patented YouthGen Technology to create this amazing new range. It promises to reduce wrinkles, dullness, discolouration and loss of skin firmness due to ageing.
Finally, something that will not only help you reduce your electrical bill by NOT using the air-conditioner at night, but also help you get that much needed beauty sleep; the Cool Gelmat – my new best friend. Another product that is under my must-have for surviving Summer. A mat that helps keep you cool whilst you’re sleeping, and surprisingly isn’t a gimmick, all thanks to the gel pads that are placed inside this mat. So, how can you go into the draw to win one of these amazing packs? Simply fill in the form with your details and leave a comment in the comments section telling me what do you do to treat or pamper yourself. The giveaway closes on the 2nd March 2012

I definitely don’t pamper myself enough, but when I do there is nothing better than sitting on the couch with my Kindle and a hot chocolate, after I’ve slathered a hydrating face mask on my mug! That way I’m helping my skin, my brain and ingesting calcium;P Great competition hun, and a Happy Valentines Day to you xoxo

Being a Mum of 3 girls its not often that im actually left alone so if ever the occassion arrives I delight in simply taking the opportunity to read a book in peace and quiet. Might not sound exciting to many but for me thats food for my soul.

I close the door to my room – locking everyone and everything out. I read a couple of trashy magazines, chick lit books or watch my guilty pleasure TV shows (Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl, 90210 etc). I love simple pleasures like this

Nothing is more divine that an indulgent soak in a deep bubble bath with a glass of bubbles. The only sound I hear is the faint fizz of the champagne….. absolute heaven ?

I make sure I take some time out for myself once every couple of months, having 4 kids, it’s hard to get that time, but even if it’s just a movie, or having my hair done, any time alone is something special that I need to keep me sane!

My idea of pampering is a visit to the hairdresser for a trim and colour, I come out feeling confident and revitalized and as all us girls know a good hairdresser is a treasure.

I pamper myself by preparing a delicious meal that I cannot afford on a regular basis, ie a rack of lamb, a big fillet of fresh salmon or some duck. I accompany this with a nice bottle of merlot and leave the kitchen messy til morning – cleaning will only reverse my pampered state of mind, or so I tell myself!

I pamper myself by leaving enough time for myself to put myself together before I leave my house. I always apply my make-up and fix my hair, even if I’m only going to run errands. I also give myself a facial once a week and when I have extra time I get a professional pedicure & manicure.

I’ve started taking time out to prepare a healthy juice for breakfast every couple of days and I’m really enjoying it! It feels like I’m pampering myself from the inside out and I’m starting to notice that my skin is looking better than it has in a very long time – now that is a great confidence boost! Even my husband has been giving it a go and loves it too (much to my surprise!?!). Next step is to give C Coconut Water a try and maybe mix it up with some of the juice for an extra kick! I hear it is great stuff!

How do I pamper myself?
Pop my favourite music on, grab
A glass of Sauvignon Blanc, place
Mor scented candles around the tub to create a little ambience,
Pour in loads of bubble bath,
Ease myself into the warm, scented water and
RELAX!
Sadly it doesn’t happen often enough, but hey that just makes it so much more special when it does happen!!

I turn off the computer(and TV if it is on), mobile phone and landline phone, light some scented candles, open all the doors and windows of my home. I then close my eyes and lay back in my recliner to the beautiful sounds of nature and the world passing by as their sounds enter my home! Sounds silly but it is really relaxing listening to the different sounds that pass us by when we are enthralled in all our technology and busy lifestyles!

For me pampering means doing something that I don’t normally do for myself i.e. giving myself a nice manicure and pedicure, cook a nice traditional meal for me, watch some beauty tutorials on youtube and then finally spent some time doing my makeup and hair even if I am not going somewhere….that’s the best way to relax and unwind all the tension…

A back, neck & shoulder massage, for as long as I can possibly afford it. There is the best place around the corner from here, they have hands of gold that send you to heaven for a little while.

A 5 minute cup of tea

Is a little time for me
Though a massage for an hour
Gives me a boost in mummy power!

I pamper myself with private time, just to be myself. It’s so nice to browse uplifting sites and reflect on all that has been accomplished during the week.

My favourite bit of indulgence is feet up on the couch with a drink and snacks in hand and some sport or a good movie on TV.

If I get a couple of private and quiet minutes in the loo (ie. minus the little ‘spectators’ and cries of “Where are you, Mummy?), i consider myself well and truly pampered!

Late at night when I’m free
I give some time back to me
A quick facial cleanse and a mask
Competitions are a pleasurable task
Munch on chockies and ginger
Lucky that time is short! Or I’d definitely be a binger!

Pampering myself involves a sleeping toddler, a good book and some peace and quiet at the end of a busy day! It frequently involves chocolate, too

There’s precious little time to be me
But I love an early night and when I turn out the light

To pamper myself I love to have a relaxing bath with some music and scented candles
on a friday night and if I really feel like some extra pampering I ask my partner
(very nicely of course) for a fiull body massage.

I would first take a lovely bubble bath with calming candles around me whilst treating my dull and tired skin to a face mask. I would then moisturise my skin with the nicest smelling lotion I own and read my newest favourite novel whilst wearing my soft bathrobe. This is only when I have plenty of time though, which is hardly ever

There’s nothing like a firm massage to relax you, and ease tension and stress from your body. Afterwards I feel like I’m walking on air.

I love treating myself to strawberry yogurt and aloe vera facial masks, as well as DIY masks with organic honey and eggs.. all whilst relaxing to some good old school music or tv show. I also pamper myself by using hair masks and delicious smelling leave in conditioners. I do this as my hair’s gone brittle from bleaching it.

When i get a bit sulky, I take myself shopping for pamper stuff, just for me. A lotion for dry skin, a mask for my oily skin, or maybe just perfume, No I think some bathy stuff, or hairy stuff, no i really need makeup, OH GEE. I go have a coffee coz i can’t make my mind up, there’s too many choices for me. So I go home and get my favorite old body cream a dear friend gifted to me. Now I smell so sweet, add an ice cream treat, and sit in the fresh air and sun. I’m as pampered as I could be.

With 3 children, pampering myself seems to get my hair brushed before the school run. But now that my youngest is off to kinder this year. I intend to do my nails, oh yes uninterrupted, WHAT my nails will be able to dry without little kid marks…. Oh the joy, a bubble bath with no screaming kids MUM, Mum , MUM, a coffee that doesn’t go cold, a face mask that the kids wont try and get off, oh the list goes on…. BRING ON PAMPER TIME.

I’ve just started university this year, so pampering is going to be difficult. I’ll be too broke and too focused on study! Pampering myself this year will consist of creating a home made mud mask from avocado and wasting my time in front of the tv watching bones. It won’t happen too often for me, but gosh I’ll be relieved when I get high distinctions for my efforts

It’s really difficult pamper myself you will see, as all I seem to do is study at university.
I never really have the time for pamper or treats, because I’m trying to save up for study books, while spending my time tutoring. But if I had to tell you what I do; how I pamper and treat myself to get me through. Going out and spending time with my family is the gift I give myself to; we always go out for a coffee or two, being the best support network that they can be- they are the perfect pamper and treat for me!

Take the afternoon to go to the city, get myself a delicious green bubble tea, and sit down in a park or a quiet corner of the library with a great book – even if it’s relevant to my studies, it’s a great way to just get away from it all and be engrossed in what I’m reading. Plus, when I’m out of the house, I’m not always thinking of the chores that I SHOULD be doing when I’m relaxing! xD
