I love jewellery, although I haven’t always loved wearing them. I’ve always been a simple girl who loves simple designs. Or designs, which have a certain unique quality about them. It wasn’t until I started my own online jewellery and accessory business that I started wearing jewellery a lot more often. I started realising how fun it actually was to dress up without having to splurge because accessories really do change the look of an outfit. But, I still love classically designed jewellery. If only they were a lot more affordable. Luckily for most of us, there are jewellery stores out there that does cater to those of us with a smaller, less extravagant budget.
Moi Moi Fine Jewellery, started in 2004, specialising in fine jewellery without the hefty price tag. It was started by two sisters, Lauren Chang Sommer and Alana Chang Weirick, who opened their first flagship store in Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building. When I say fine I mean, classic style, with diamonds. The only difference is, they don’t use diamonds in their collections. Instead, Moi Moi specialises in Moissanite; a natural occurring mineral – silicon carbide, found in limited quantities. Its properties are similar to that of a diamond, in fact, the Moissanite actually outperforms a diamond in terms of brilliance, dispersion, lustre, and durability.
Amongst Moi Moi’s collection is their Miabelle range, a range of beautifully hand-painted enamel sterling silver jewellery which have been set with some semi-precious stones. The designs are unique and colours vibrant to suit most tastes.
I’ve had the privilege of having this gorgeous limited edition, stainless steel ring which has been designed with black plated mesh and at the centre, a gorgeous 0.10 carat Moissanite stone.
I love how simple yet effective the design is, especially with the black mesh giving the ring that slight edginess in design. I’ve been wearing this since the day I received it, which was about two days ago. They suit most of what I wear, transforming it from casual to formal, depending on what other accessories I match it with.

The most memorable moment was walking through the doors of a Melbourne pub when I laid eyes on my husband. I remember the tingly, butterfly sensations and I think that moment changed my life forever – we now have 2 beautiful boys .. I am one lucky girl!

My life seems soooo long and full with so many interesting things: meeting my first love and my first husband – I have two beautiful kids with him – daughter Mash and son Misha – loosing my husband for cancer – opening another door of running the most beautiful club in Melbourne to support people with terminal deseases – meeting my second love by publishing my late husband’s poetry online… writing more than 250 poems – no end of the journey – happy and balanced – life still goes on…
