Imagine having a one night stand that extended to a one week stand with a stranger from another country, only to realise about a month later that… YOU’RE PREGNANT! Yikes! That’s what *Catastrophe, British’s Channel 4’s hilarious sitcom series is about.
Rob is in London on a business trip where, on that one fateful night, meets Sharon, an Irish teacher at a pub. They hit it off and let’s just say that the one night stand turned into a whole week affair. When Sharon rings Rob to inform him of her pregnancy, he decides to “make things right” by heading off to London. Here’s where the adventure begins – two sort of strangers getting to know each other.
I love how the Brits do humour and Catastrophe is no exception. It’s dry, dark humour, interspersed with reality that we might be able to relate to somehow. I’m so far into Episode 2 of Season 1, where Rob gets to meet Sharon’s rather honest but weird brother. And, here’s the bonus… Carrie Fisher is Rob’s mum! So be prepared to be entertained! The sitcom stars Rob Delaney as Rob Norris and Sharon Horgan as Sharon Morris. Yep… Norris and Morris – meant to be I think? The complete edition of season 1 is out now and available on iTunes and Google Play.
