For this week’s Fashion Day post, I’ve teamed up with a blogger from Toronto, Canada that I “met” online via a short blogging course. We’ve decided to do a little collaboration with our styling and fashion ideas and call it, “Style Across the World”. It’s an interesting concept to see what other styling bloggers wear in other parts of the world, using the same trend or theme, while being immersed in the different seasons at the same time.
Shannon from Styled By Shannon has the same concept as I do – she loves to style her life through fashion, food and beauty. She offers time saving tricks and budget friendly ideas to get you the most out of life.
For our first collaboration, we’ve decided to pick the theme of stripes and ankle boots, showing how versatile these are regardless of the season.
Check out Shannon’s take on stripes and ankle boots here, for autumn.
And here’s mine:
I was trying to “capture” the essence of spring – see the long uncut grass? – but on hindsight, I should have probably taken the photos indoors as the sun was way too bright and the day was pretty windy too!
I love my pieces from Popbasic and this striped Le Breton dress is no exception. Besides the fact that it’s stripes, the dress is light enough to be worn in spring and yet would blend perfectly well in the colder months when layered with other pieces.
Linen blazer: Zara (similar here)Ankle Boots: Novo shoes (similar style different shade ^here)
To give it a slightly more smart casual feel, I’ve teamed the dress with a light cream linen blazer, because you know linen equates to the more warmer seasons but perfect to keep those cool winds at bay. Completing the look is a pair of my favourite tan ankle boots – a little structured, a little playful. Smart casual at its best?
Are you a fan of stripes too? Do you wear ankle boots in spring or is it far too warm for you, wherever you are? What’s your take on linen? Love or hate?
