I was lucky enough to be a plus one to one of my dearest blogging friends yesterday to celebrate Tilley Australia’s 150 years anniversary. The event was held over at Stables of Como and celebrating their Violet anniversary range, the theme was of course – Violets! The packs from 150 anniversary range have been designed by local illustrator, Erin Whitty.
The violet fragrance had always been the front runner to celebrate Tilley’s milestone anniversary, and was developed by Tilley Soaps master perfumer to create the combination of violet and lily of the valley. You would expect a strong and overpowering scent, but in fact, while distinct, the scent of violet from the range was surprisingly pleasant.

The room was decorated with lovely violets, from the table setting, the specially designed placemats, right down to the cocktail we were served with at the start of the event.
Violet inspired cocktail anyone?

As with any other events, I did start to fret wondering what to wear. Not like I haven’t got a wardrobe full of clothes, but I knew the event would be held in a rather special place, in a garden setting for a lunchtime event. The weather also decided to turn from the super warm weather of the past week to a rather wet and slightly chilly one this week! That sure didn’t help ease the decision making process.
But, as with any other event, I always fall back on a dress. A dress can be dressed up with accessories, it’s a ONE piece so there was no need to wonder what to mix and match your pieces with, and I can always wear a blazer or cardigan to keep myself warm.
Here I am posing with the Tilley 150 anniversary soap I had just hand-pressed!

I picked this dress I wore two years ago to Mr. C’s office Christmas party. It’s a simple dress with a keyhole neckline in a navy paisley print on white. Keeping it light, I wore it with my linen blazer and finished the outfit off with a pair of wedged peep toe heels.
It was a spectacular event, from the lovely setting, to the food and right down to the company I had! If you’re after any of Tilley’s 150 anniversary range, be sure to check them out here.
