Fashion Day: Spring Midis

Fashion Day: Spring Midis

I know we haven’t hit Spring yet, but hey, we’re halfway until the end of August, even if it still feels like we’re in the dead of Winter here in Melbourne!  But, that doesn’t stop me from looking ahead.  With Spring just around the corner, I’ve started planning a few pieces to add to my Spring wardrobe.

Spring Midis

While Summer usually means sundresses, short lengths and even maxis, somehow Spring seem to evoke the idea of midis in my mind.  Could just be me, but I somehow associate Spring with femininity, girliness and gorgeous lace, floral and baroque prints, which was why I picked this dress to wear yesterday – even if we’ve not quite yet hit Spring. Call me crazy, but I love to dabble in a little Spring wear even in Winter.

This fit and flare midi dress actually comes sleeveless but, I decided to wear it with a 3/4 sleeved knit top and a pair of leggings underneath.

Add a cardigan for a sweet, yet casual daytime look and I’ve got a complete outfit.

Grey 3/4 Sleeve Knit: Hot Options

Leggings: Cotton On

Cardigan: Bohemian Traders

Ankle Boots: NOVO Shoes

I was actually surprised at the quality of this dress, complete with lining and the fabric doesn’t feel or look cheap either, considering it was just under $40!  If you’re considering shopping from Izabel, make sure you go one size up, which was what I did.

For evening I switched it up and wore it with my favourite biker style jacket.

For my makeup, I believe that sometimes, less is more.  What I’ve got on are just the BB Cream, blush, a gel liner and mascara for my eyes, eyebrows enhanced with an eyebrow pencil and a rich, coloured lipstick.  Simple, yet effective.  I’ll share more about the lipstick, which is one of Arbonne’s latest releases in another post.

Are you a fan of midis too?  And please tell me I’m not the only one who is hankering for Spring to finally hit!
