Friday’s Favourites: Coconut Oil In A Pump Bottle, Compression Socks & Kikkik Ballpoint Pen

Sorry I’m a little bit late with today’s Friday’s Favourites, but that’s because my semester two classes have just started this week, and I’ve been busy catching up on my readings, writing and more importantly I was out all day at Healesville Sanctuary with Master 9’s grade level.  Yes, I put my hand up to help out and as tired as it made me at the end of it, I had a lot of fun!!

This week’s Friday’s Favourites feature a few items that I would never have thought would be on this list!  Yes, call them my surprise favourites!

Friday’s Favourites

redwin coconut oil

I featured Redwin Naturals Coconut Body Butter in this previous post, but, let me tell you a little bit more about this particular body oil that made my list this week.  You see, I love coconut oil, but the thing that I have found cumbersome is how it usually comes in a plastic tub, and hardens when the temperature drops.  Meaning you would need to dip and dig or warm it up in your hands to get the oil going.  The Redwin Naturals coconut body oil however comes in a pump bottle, so all I need to do is pump it out!  SO EASY!  I’ve almost used up the bottle that was given to me and bought another one during the Priceline 40% off skincare sale yesterday.  You see, that’s how it usually happens with most of us bloggers.  We get given items we might not have thought of purchasing but end up buying and stocking up later on anyway because we love it so much!  Much like my growing love for Uriage as you might have read over, and over again.

The body oil absorbs easily and while I do like the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter body oils, the coconut oil does deliver more moisture for my super dry legs – it’s always my legs and never anywhere else!  It absorbs well and never leaves me feeling sticky either.  The best part though, is definitely the pump bottle.

compressport compression socks

I mentioned in Wednesday’s post about the compression socks I’ve been wearing for my runs and how much it has actually helped with a) my feet and calves while running b) recovery after my run.  I’ll explain more about how it works in another post.  So it’s no surprise that they have been included on this week’s Friday’s Favourites.  I mean seriously, I’ve been so sick of having my calves hurt so badly while running as well as my feet, especially when I’m doing longer distances than what I’m used to.

While compression clothing and even socks can be really expensive, thanks to my friend Tine, who recommended this website to me, I can buy it at a much cheaper price!  I got mine from Wiggle, which sells sportswear for running, riding, swimming and so much more at discounted prices.  You know how I love my discounts right?  And I got this pair of compression socks from Compressport, a brand fro Switzerland at 30% off the recommended retail price!  Woot!!

Why would something as simple as a ballpoint pen make it to my list?  Well, I’m very particular with what I use when I write and while I do use cheaper ballpoint pens, it doesn’t hurt when you receive a gift card from Kikki K as your birthday present and boy did I enjoy spending that gift card.  I’ve always loved Kikki K pens, and how smooth they write, plus I also love how they’re not too thin or thick to write with.  The designs are also really cute and because they come with a refill, you get to keep on using the pen anyway!  Even Miss 13 knows how great the pens there are – she actually exclaimed to me, “Ooohh… they have good pens there”, when I told her I had received a Kikki K gift card!  Thanks Kerry and Ling!

That’s all folks!  Have you tried any of what I’ve shared on my Friday’s Favourites list this week?  How about compression clothing and socks?  Which ones have you tried and loved?
