Fashion Day: Getting Creative With Scarves

Fashion Day: Getting Creative With Scarves

Sometimes I get bored.  I get bored with what’s in my wardrobe.  But money doesn’t grow on trees and most of the time I know I don’t NEED anything else.  So what’s a girl to do when she’s bored with what she’s got?  She goes on Pinterest and look for some easy-to-follow ideas or inspiration of course!

I was doing just that, earlier this week and trying to get some winter DIY ideas when I came across these:

scarf ideas

Then I thought maybe I could recreate these styles but add my own touch to it, you know?  Without having to actually have to go out and get new fabric.  Why not use the scarves I already have?

Getting Creative with Scarves

I tried the first style by using two scarves I already had.  Picking contrasting colours so that it would stand out, and looped them together.  Instead of sewing the ends, I simply knotted them together.

I could use longer and thicker scarves of course, but thought I’d use a thinner one for this post.  Not only did it help add some lovely colours and prints to my plain outfit but makes it more interesting too, don’t you think?

Next, I tried the one with the leather cuff.  While I do have a pleather cuff, I thought, not everyone would, so what other thing could I use?  A skinny belt!  All I had to do was loop the belt a few times around one end of a scarf that has been tied up at the ends to create an infinity style scarf.

I even tried it with a different scarf and belt.

This time I used a skinny plaited belt and looped it differently around the scarf.  It helps to create texture and makes your outfit a tad bit more interesting too.

Sure it might look weird but, hey, regular can sometimes be boring, so you need to step outside the square sometimes eh?

Will you try these new ideas out you think?  Or is it too out of the box for you?
