Fashion Day: Dressing Up Bohemian Traders Ahoy Dress

Fashion Day: Dressing Up Bohemian Traders Ahoy Dress

After waiting and stalking and pining for this **striped sleeveless dress from Bohemian Traders since they were first released, I finally have them in my hot little hands!  They arrived only three days after I ordered them AND their **striped skirt.  Both were on sale, so I thought, why not?  I’ve waited this long already! In fact, for those of you who are interested, they are both STILL on sale!

Anyway, when I shared this on my Facebook page the other day, I had a “liker” ask which I would pick, if I had to choose between the skirt and the dress.  That was a hard question.  VERY hard question.  I love them both, they both are of very good quality – as are all the other items from Bohemian Traders.  Then I came to a conclusion that, well, it really depends on if you’re more of a “separates” or “dress” chick. Me, I’m both.  So you see where it got a bit hard for me to answer?  Then we discussed options on how you can wear the Ahoy dress, and let me tell you, this “liker” came up with some pretty good ideas, which also got me thinking of the different ways I could also wear this dress!

I figured, why not try wearing a crisp white shirt underneath the dress, add some accessories, a belt and my brown brogues and voila!  I’m ready to rock this outfit for my next teaching round.

Brogues: Aldo Shoes via Shopolla

Then I tried wearing the dress over a simple black long sleeved top.  Seems like it worked rather well too!

So now, to answer her question, I’d say go for the dress. When you calculate the cost-per-wear, this definitely goes that extra mile in terms of versatility.

What a great dress! Looks amazing. I would love to wear it with a cropped red blazer.

I have this dress too, and I just love it! Been too hot up here in Qld to wear it with anything else, but I wore it on a recent overseas flight with a denim jacket and scarf. Comfortable for travelling in, didn’t arrive all crushed and messy looking. Love your ideas for layering, will try them out in the cooler weather!

Hi Kathryn, yes isn’t it the most comfortable dress?! I love the fact that it’s not too snug or tight fitting so that I can go out for lunch or dinner in this and still feel comfortable.

  • I absolutely love how you’ve styled the dress to show its versatility!! It looks great with the top underneath – well done! I have my eye on many BT pieces at the moment….:)

Thanks Wendy! 🙂 I wanted to see how far I can stretch this dress, in terms of cost-per-wear. Didn’t just want this to be just a summer dress. Glad I played around with the styling.
