Friday’s Favourites: Paw Paw, Coco Liberace & L’Oreal Matte Gloss

Friday’s Favourites: Paw Paw, Coco Liberace & L’Oreal Matte Gloss

It’s Friday and that means it’s Friday’s Favourites time again! I’ve got three favourites, well actually 5 if you want me to be more specific. And, the first three aren’t even MY favourites but more Master 9’s. But, they’re still my favourites because finally I’ve managed to find something that not only works but Master 9 has been using regularly WITHOUT having me remind him to apply them. AWESOME!

Paw Paw – Nature’s Care & Natralus

  • *Nature’s Care Paw Paw Baby Shampoo & Body Wash rrp$8.99 and *Baby Balm rrp$6.99

When I first received these two products in the mail, I thought, “What the hell am I supposed to do with these products? I have no babies at home anymore?!”  It wasn’t until Master 9 came back from camp last week that I realised how dry his skin was. Not only that, he was scratching like crazy. His cheeks had reddish patches and they were a little bit itchy too. Desperate to soothe his dry and itchy skin, I grabbed the gentlest product I could find in the house. It just happened to be Nature’s Care Paw Paw Baby Shampoo and Body Wash. I figured that if it was gentle enough for a baby, then it should be gentle enough for his sensitive skin. Plus, it’s a 2-in-1 where he can use both as shampoo and body wash. That means he has no excuse BUT to wash his hair too. I then told him to apply the balm onto his body after his shower. Just to see (and hope to hell) if it worked.

  • *Natralus Paw Paw Spray Gel rrp from $10.99

Then for his face, I asked him to apply the Natralus Paw Paw Spray Gel. The verdict? The rash on his face calmed down a little, but it did sting when he first applied it on his face. I have a feeling the skin on his cheeks have been slightly “damaged” or over exposed to wind and sun while at camp.

Master 9 loved that the Nature’s Care balm absorbed immediately into his skin. His words were, “It was a bit oily at first but it wasn’t sticky and was gone after I put it on”. Meaning it absorbed into his skin I suppose. The same goes with the Natralus gel. He also loved the smell of the body wash. It wasn’t too girly, more like a nice fresh with a hint of sweetness.

What I do love about these products, besides the fact that Master 9 loves it and uses it without me reminding him like a broken record, is also the price and availability. They are highly affordable and readily available at supermarkets. The Nature’s Care range is available exclusively at Woolworths and the Natralus Paw Paw range at Coles.

Coco Liberace Fine Necklaces

I discovered this brand by chance actually. Thanks to the generous PR ladies that sent over some *glameyes by Manicare “gisele” and “Alessandra” falsies, who also included a *fine chain floating letter necklace ($25) from Coco Liberace.

It had this lower case letter “n” strung on a really fine chain in silver and the best thing was, I could fasten it at three different lengths! I went to their website to check out their other stuff and boy was I impressed! Their prices for the fine chain necklaces were rather reasonable. They also had other motifs besides the floating letters like the infinity symbol, wishbone, karma circle, and many others.

I’ve been wearing this necklace almost everyday, sometimes on its own and at other times layered with my other silver necklaces. I’ve even worn it at the shortest length, like a choker. Now, I’ve got my eye on the rose gold or gold floating letter (in “n” of course) or one of their other motifs ($20) in rose gold, to layer with the silver “n” I’ve already got. I love wearing mixed metals. Now for me to give Mr. C or anyone else a hint for Christmas 😉

L’Oreal Glam Matte Lip Gloss in Zip It Rouge

Another accidental discovery was the **L’Oreal Glam Matte Lip Gloss (rrp$21.95). Thanks to Priceline’s 40% off cosmetics last week, I managed to buy two items that were necessities and another two that I really wanted to try. One of those “wanted to try” items was the L’Oreal’s Glam Matte Lip Gloss. Yeah, it’s weird to say a gloss that is matte, but really I think this is supposed to be like a liquid lipstick.

As usual, I was drawn to the fuchsia, also known as – Zip It Rouge. The pigmentation of this liquid lipstick is pretty intense and while it has a matte finish, surprisingly, it didn’t leave my lips feeling dry. When it came to its staying power, well, it doesn’t last very long. It does eat off, but it also left a nice stain on my lips afterwards, something that I didn’t mind too much. I do love the intense colour that helps to add that nice pop of colour when I’m too lazy to put on a full face of makeup. Perfect for giving you that, “Oh I look this glam everyday” look 😉

That’s it for this week! Have you tried any of the products I’ve shared on my Friday’s Favourites list? What about fine necklaces? Are you a fan of those or do you prefer chunkier necklaces?
