Looking for ideas on how you can somehow add some sort of nail art onto your nails? Or maybe you’re wondering what’s next in the world of fashion and nails? Or maybe you’re not? Never mind, I’m still here to share with you what I’m so thankful for. The fact that at the recent New York Fashion Week, models were sporting nails that we mere mortals and novices or let’s just be frank here, those who can’t be bothered or have time for lavishly decorated nails CAN and would be happy to sport on their nails!
At the BCBGMAXAZARIA Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week models had on….wait for this…NUDE coloured nails! You have no idea how THRILLED I am by this little snippet of information because, hello, nude colours are the easiest ever to manage! Not only do they hide any sort of “mistakes”, but because they’re so close to the colour of your nail beds that you can leave it a little bit longer before your next manicure. Plus, it’s classy no? And it also makes your fingers look slimmer and longer 😉 .

Assembly New York’s theme for their Fall/Winter 2014 collection was centered around the minimalist modern Egyptian aesthetic. To complement the look, OPI chose to continue that simplicity simply by buffing the models nails to a glorious shine then added a single black Swarovski crystal at the centre of the cuticle line. Their thumbs were then painted in black and were also given the Swarovski treatment.

Taking the inspiration from these two shows, I’ve decided to wear the two featured colours – nude and black. Instead of adding a Swarovski crystal on each and every nail, because let’s face it, I wash dishes at home, and do other “fun” chores so really, why would I want to waste those crystals. Ok, plus I don’t HAVE them! Anyway, I’ve used a gold 3D dot that came in the Edge Heavy Metal kit I used previously.

I’ve decided to paint the ring finger on my left hand and pointer on my right black, while the rest in nude. Don’t ask me why. I’m just trying to be creative here. Looks like it sort of worked ;).
Would you be giving this nail art style a go? It’s too easy to say no huh? Why not try a different colour instead of black. Or you could wear all your nails in a nude shade then add a sparkly crystal onto each nail?
