Been a while since I had anyone ask me any fashion or beauty related question but finally someone did! On Tuesday night, a friend of mine, Larissa, sent me a message asking me to help her decide on a dress. More of a back-up for when she needs to attend blogger events. Here’s her question:
I found this dress on ASOS and wondered what you thought for Autumn/Winter? My best feature is my small waist and I am heavy on the bottom and small on the top and quite short. What do you think? Hate buying online!
Larissa has a very classic taste, especially when she showed me what she had pinned on her Pinterest board. There were quite a number of dresses that had the same silhouette and were very lady-like. She also isn’t one who wears jeans or pants and loves dresses. So this dress she chose would make the perfect choice for her. Plus, it has 3/4 sleeves and what looks like a medium-weight fabric, so makes the perfect trans-seasonal dress.
This dress is also versatile enough to be worn with ballet flats or even a pair of opaques and some boots and a jacket. That’s what I love about classic cuts – they are so versatile you can chop and change your style the way it fits your mood or the occasion.
So ladies, the trick is, when in doubt, go for the classics. Not only are they much easier to dress up or down, but are usually timeless.
