Wow, into Week 6 this week and I have to say, yes I still have a few more lip products to go through – it’s like a never-ending treasure trove of lipsticks and lip gloss that I’ve either found in handbags, drawers or on my desk in the study! Just to re-cap and to share with those of you who are thinking of joining in, #lippyaday is where you “Shop Your Stash”. What does that mean? Basically wearing a lip product that you’ve got in your collection already! No repeats – just a different one each day. If you buy a new one while doing the #lippyaday, that’s fine, just add that on.
The idea is so you’ll end up wearing what you’ve avoided or forgotten about. I’ve done that a lot this week. It’ll not only make you decide if the colour you’ve got would suit you or not but pushes you to be a little bit more creative when it comes to making that shade work on you. The great thing about this #lippyaday adventure is (yes it has definitely been an adventure for me!) that you can jump in and out any time you like. No limit as to how long you’ll need to be, the fun is in sharing what lip product you’ve got on that day. Gives us a chance to check out what a lipstick we might have been crushing on looks or feels like on someone else too. You know what they say…”Sharing is Caring” 😉 .
So don’t be shy, even if you’ve only got that ONE or two or just a handful, join in! It’s fun! I’d LOVE to see what you’ve got in your stash. And who knows, that shade you’ve been avoiding in your stash might actually look good when worn differently or you might just decide FINALLY to give it away!

The past week has seen me wear a lot of bold colours on my lips. That was definitely on purpose. I was feeling a bit run down and looked it too so thought, why not detract the focus on my eyes onto my lips instead! Models Prefer Ultra Lipgloss Pencil is like a lip crayon and lasted all day – gorgeous dark red shade that would also look great with that sexy siren look and so is Illamasqua’s Sangers.
I was amazed at how versatile the range from the latest L’Oreal Shine Caresse was giving me an option to go for the bold look in their vibrant colours (check out Juliet!) and options to go for that natural look without looking washed out in their much more subtle colours. Loving the Lolita!
The past week I also dared myself to wear colours I’ve normally avoided. The Face of Australia’s Starlight is a really light shade – so light it would make me look so pale and sick. But, I decided to give it a try by wearing it with something else. Remember that really ugly look where you had a darker lip liner with a lighter lipstick shade that I think was huge in the 90’s? Well, I sort of played around with that idea. But, this time I lined my lips with the darker shade – Chocolate from Palladino that I haven’t worn in yonks! Filled in my lips with the same lip liner and then applied the Starlight lipstick over it giving it a nice 3D effect! Not bad huh?! That’s Day 34 in the photo. Another colour I’ve avoided – orange and yet I wore that on Sunday (Day 35) and found that I could wear that shade. I think it also helped that I had a bit more blush on and that I went slightly darker on my eyes with lining the top and bottom eye lines. See the things I’ve picked up over the week? I think I’ll be keeping those colours I’ve been avoiding now that I’ve found another way of wearing them!
If you’ve been or want to join in #lippyaday remember to tag me @norlinm so I can easily check out what lipstick, lipgloss or lip tint you’re wearing that day!
