I announced the re-opening of Hamer Hall a while back, listing the different shows – paid and free that were running inconjuction to the opening. This time next week, one of you lucky readers will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy the beating of drums, a melodic fusion of Asian-Australian music, thanks to the joint performance by Kodo & TaikOz.
TaikOz is Australia’s taiko ensemble that have established a unique style showcasing the group’s dedication to the traditions of Japanese taiko drumming whilst creating new music to suit contemporary tastes. Kodo strives to preserve and re-interpret traditional Japanese performing arts by mixing Japanese folk arts with contemporary styles.
Enjoy harmonious beats of the drum, that incorporates the traditional Japanese culture with a contemporary twist, letting your mind flow through and relax with the drum beats that mimics a mother’s heart beat.
Tickets are on sale now with prices starting at $40.00.
