We are pretty lucky here in Australia. We have beautiful cities, then there are the luscious countrysides and best of all the vineyards that litter the different states. In the Hunter Valley alone there are over 120 wineries and some even with their own restaurant, and event facilities. One such place is the Bimbadgen Estate, which is located on a hill in the heart of the Hunter Valley Wine Country. Bimbadgen doesn’t just have an expansive Cellar Door and cafe, but also an outdoor amphitheatre for all those amazing events, modern tasting rooms and accommodation as well as their award-winning Esca Bimbadgen Restaurant.
The Bimbadgen range of wines are divided into 6 different types. The Bimbadgen Ridge, Bimbadgen Sparkling, Bimbadgen Estate, Bimbadgen Regions, Bimbadgen MCA Art Series and Bimbadgen Signature – all with their own unique characteristics. I was recently given three wines from their Bimbadgen Sparkling range to try out. So far I’ve only been able to try their Bimbadgen NV Rose, described as a sparkling wine with aromas of fresh berries and bright strawberries and cream characters that carry through the palate with a clean, crisp finish. This is definitely a bubbly wine and I’m used to a good crisp Sauvignon Blanc. It was a little bit too sweet for my liking but having said that maybe it’s best to consume this on a nice hot day, with some tapas, and canapes.
I have yet to delve into their Bimbadgen Sparkling NV Semillon and the Bimbadgen Concert Series Sparkling NV Moscato. From the description I think the Moscato might be a hit as it’s got more of a floral and grape flavours. It’s no fun drinking alone, so I have to find an occasion to give this one a try.
Bimbadgen also has a Bimbadgen Bubbles Club membership where you are given 6 bottles delivered to your door 3 times a year. Each pack is capped at the discounted price of $75 per pack. Some of the benefits for being member include 20% off all wine purchased via their Cellar Door or online, discount off their Homestead and Cottage accommodation rates, access to “A Day on the Green” and so much more!
Especially just for Baubles, Bubbles & Bags Style File readers, Bimbadgen is giving away the Ultimate Sparkling Pack valued at $140, which includes 6 bottles from the Bimbadgen Sparkling range, an ice bucket and a bottle stopper.

The hubs just passed a very important exam, and he’s completely over the moon. Just one more hurdle to go, and no more exams. Ever. He’s also a big fan of wine, and if I win this, well, it will be my present to him (ahem, bad cheapskate wife for not actually spending any dosh on him
), which I know he will thoroughly enjoy

Joel and I haven’t been away together for about 9 years. I’d finally organise some time off (organise it with his boss, but neither of us tell him) and kidnap him for a weekend. We’d take a couple of bottles with us, stay somewhere like Maleny or Montville and just unwind together. Spa bath (with bubbles in the bath and bubbles in a glass).
Sounds kind of blissful to me. Will send photos.

I’d love to enjoy them with friends, sitting around the backyard (or house if it is raining again!) and having a nice drink just socialising. Although i’d keep a bottle just for hubs and I for the next rare night we have without our 4 wonderful children.

I’d share with my husbeast while we enjoy one of our favourite “dinners” – rich cheese, sourdough and dips/chutney/something spicy!

If I won, I would have to have all my girlfriends over for a night of chocolate covered strawberries, gorgeous Bimbadgen wines, and some beauty works. And don’t forget the chick flick!

Bimbadgen Sparkling NV Semillon with my husband as it’s the least sweet of the 3.
Bimbadgen Concert Series Sparkling NV Moscato. With my best friend who’s pregnant and Moscato is usually lower in alcohol
Bimbadgen NV Rose, by myself, because if it’s my prize, surely that’s ok.
