Bed Hair Anyone?

Bed Hair Anyone?

What is bed hair anyway? Well, from what I’ve gathered…and remember this is from MY OWN observations- it’s sort of the messy, wavy hair with volume but not actually like you’ve stumbled out of bed with bad hair, more like ooh I’m so sexy, relaxed sort of hair. Do you get what I’m trying to describe?

Kristen Stewart  sported this style at the recent Paris Fashion Week Louis Vuitton show, and then at this year’s Milan Fashion Week, Sam McKnight featured the models with a shinier but still sexy version at the Bluemarine A/W12 show.

Our own L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival had the models on Runway 5 sporting a similar, relaxed, full volume, dishevelled look without actually looking sloppy.

How DO you get that sexy, volume for your hair? Well, there are 2 ways of doing this 1)with a straightening iron or 2)with a curling iron.

I’ve chosen to use a curling iron. This time I’m using the John Frieda’s Frizz Ease Loose Curls Curler, which is available through Priceline. This curling iron is pretty quick and easy to use with the different temperature settings and only needs 30 seconds to heat up!

There are 11 different heat settings with the maximum being 205 degrees Celsius. The High V Ion Generator means that your hair won’t frizz up once it touches the heat of the iron.

Step 1 – Brush or comb your hair and then divide them into sections. I’ll be doing it in two layers – top and bottom.

Step 2 – Curl your hair in sections using the curling iron.

Step 3- After doing all the different sections, brush out your curls.

Tease your hair then smooth it up on top

Step 4 – With the top most section, tease the underside of your hair to give it some lift and volume. Then smooth and brush the top bit a little.

Step 5 – Spray some hair spray for some hold. You’re ready to go!
