It’s been a very long while since I’ve done a Fashion Day post. Blame it on life – yes I do have a day job. Blame it on the family – yes I do have to fit in some family time on top of my day job and blogging. Blame it on…pure laziness when it comes to taking photos – see, I’ve admitted it. It can be such a hassle just to set up the right shot, at the right time, and usually the only time I do get to do it is when my girls come home from school. You see, they are sometimes my camera person. Miss 10 isn’t too bad at taking photos actually, you can see it from the Bloggers Do It Better (BDIB) Sequins Challenge, Shorts for Work, Cheering Yourself Up with Clothes & Make-up and even the Tips for Shopping Online posts.
Anyway, remember how I shared with you a few posts ago about the upcoming trends? And then I told you about trying to hunt down for that floral blazer? Guess what? I finally got one! And for less than $100! Yes, I would of course have loved to have been able to afford Lisa Ho’s gorgeous floral blazer but, no, my bank account would not allow that. I’ve got mouths to feed (ok I don’t – that’s my husband’s territory, but I can’t justify spending over $600 for a trend item). I did have my eye on the one from Zara but, it was sold out – not surprisingly really. Then luckily for me, my dear friend Lexi from Dreaming of Verona spotted a gorgeous blue floral blazer while we were out shopping one day. She grabbed that one of course and told me there was a brown one. I was a little hesitant in getting the brown one. I thought it looked…well..like something my mum would wear. But having uhmmed and ahhhed I decided to go for it. I will make it work. And that I did!
I won’t show you in this post what I wore with it yet. But I will next time. Meanwhile, I’ll show you what it looks like first.
Might not look quite right but trust me, when teamed with the right items, it will rock that outfit!
I have also found some gorgeous navy floral fabric in my fabric stash that I’m planning to make a pair of pants with. Just have to make sure there’s enough fabric and find the right pattern. If not then it’ll end up being a skirt. And, I also found some gorgeous lace fabric from my stash and do have something simple to make in mind. Whether that would eventuate, only time (and my mood) will tell.
Stay tuned next week when I share with you how I styled this Princess Highway floral blazer.
