The High Street Edit was part of this year’s LMFF Famous For Fashion Series. Held at the Malvern Town Hall, the show featured collections from retailers on Glenferrie Road and High Street. There were two themes running throughout the show – Parisian Chic and Hollywood Glamour. The idea was to showcase the latest Autumn/Winter trends using pieces from the retailers in that area. The labels featured were, Arabella Ramsay, Carla Zampatti, Moss & Spy, Lisa Barron, etal, John Cavill, Lisa Ho, Charlie Brown, Nicholangela and for the men; Hemden.
Parisian chic had the models dressed in short print dresses, A-line pleated tartan skirts worn with above the knee socks and brogues from Arabella Ramsay‘s collection.
Very cute, very chic. I especially loved the outfit with the white Peter Pan collar shirt and red knit sweater with the pleated skirt – perfect for this year’s Autumn/Winter.
For a slightly more “adult” version of the Parisian chic, the collection of lace top worn with light pink houndstooth skirt and a gorgeous leather jacket from John Cavill. There was also lace worn with faux fur vest and a lace skirt with maroon silk inlay.
More lace was seen from Moss & Spy, carrying on the Parisian theme for the more sophisticated Madame.
Sequins were also the highlight of the show with pieces from John Cavill, Charlie Brown and Lisa Barron. Cavill’s sequinned black dress was perfect for that night out with a Parisian twist, whilst Charlie Brown and Lisa Barron emulated the glamorous old Hollywood.
Nicholangela‘s collection featured pieces with prints in gorgeous read, purples and black – perfect for the Red trend that will be huge this Autumn/Winter.
Lisa Ho had lovely soft, floaty pieces, which I thought would be a tad bit too cold to wear during the colder months, but would be fabulous for those special night outs when worn with a faux fur capelet.
etal featured an all black collection in soft, sheer fabric – simple, clean and uncluttered. Carla Zampatti’s black and white pieces would be great for those looking for simple clean lines to wear day or night. With black and white houndstooth print on dresses, jackets and even skirts.
It’s great to see some wearable pieces that can be worn by every day people, incorporating the 2012 Autumn/Winter trends.
