Hard to believe we’re nearing the end of 2011 and ushering 2012 come Saturday night! Bring on 2012 I say. Whilst 2011 has been a pretty good ride – blogging wise, with learning a lot of new things, sharing a lot of new products I’ve tried and also communicating with my YOU my dear readers, I’m definitely looking forward to 2012 being and even more exciting year with more exciting things.
Having shared with you all my Friday’s Favourites almost every week of the year, and then sharing other products I’ve tried via my recent “Tried and Tested”, I thought it would be fair to do a round up of my favourite products to close of 2011. While I do like most of those I’ve tried and have not had any negative reactions towards most of them – if any – these products that I will be sharing with you are the ones that I absolutely love. In no particular order:
Having discovered this in late September, I have not stopped using this BB cream. I only need a little to go a long way, and I get to skip applying any powder on my face! I love the fact that it also means that I would not need to pack so much – evident during my trip to Sydney for ABBW – and was still able to look great! This BB cream is a great all rounder – with SPF 15+, acts as a moisturiser and also a foundation with the tint.
Yes, I’m sure you’ve heard me mention this product over and over and over again, well, that’s because it is my absolute favourite product of all time! It is an all-in-one for my eyebrows with the wax, two different brow powder colours, as well as a brow highlighter, an eye-bright cream, a black kohl pencil and even a tweezer! Again, a good item to bring along with you for those weekends away or even a short trip.
I shared this with you on last week’s Friday’s Favourites. Still my favourite under-eye concealer of all time so far, with it’s smooth texture that glides on easily and blends effortlessly onto my skin.
I still use this every alternate night when I’m not using the Alpha-H Liquid Gold Skin Perfecting System. This oil is so great at renewing the skin as well as soothing it when you’ve been out in the sun, like I did the other day.
Having tried this cream cleanser mid this year, I started falling in love with it. Loved the texture and the mild scent of essential oils this cream cleanser has. Not to mention it cleans off make-up really well too!
One of my favourite hair care ranges to use is this range from Organix. It’s not only the fact that it’s free from any sulphates and other nasties, but it actually works to keep my hair soft, luscious and best of all NOT frizzy! I alternate the shampoo and conditioner from the Organix Moroccan Argan Oil range with something I just discovered recently and have now started to fall in love with – Eco Store‘s shampoo and conditioner. More about Eco Store’s range after this.
I was introduced to Ecostore‘s range when I went to the latest Blogger’s Brunch, which was held in November. I’ve always been interested in finding out more organic, or natural products to use on myself and hopefully introduce to my readers. Ecostore, an eco-friendly brand of products that started in 1993 from New Zealand, was borne from the alarming findings that two permaculturalists found in the household products we all use. The number of nasty chemicals still found in these products we used everyday were not only endangering us – but everything else around us too. So, soon a small range was developed, which then grew to include so much more, which included hair and body products. Their philosophy is to source healthier products without the use of toxic or unnecessary chemicals and that they would work well with mainstream brands. Considerations like ingredients that might be hazardous to humans, as well as the environment around them were of high priority.
Anyway, back to my discovering of their shampoo and conditioner. Basically, they are free from sulphates, are plant based with natural cleansing agents to clean and freshen your hair. With gorgeous essential oils that are not overpowering and enough product to lather up my hair, I love that this shampoo, unlike other organic or eco-friendly shampoos works well by leaving my hair clean and fresh. The conditioner has sweet almond oil, to help soften the hair and give it that nice shine. What I loved about this is the fact that a) the scent wasn’t overpowering b) did NOT leave my hair FLAT after wards.
As you would know by now, I’m a shaving chick, and I hate and avoid waxing at all costs. So far, the range from Schick, namely the Intuition with the moisture bar, is still hanging in my shower. It’s a great all-in-one shaving tool and so far, touch wood, no nicks or cuts! Another favourite is the Quattro Trimstyle. I just love the fact that I can groom my lady bits. Very handy and easy to use.
This is still on my favourites list as it’s so easy to apply, gives my face that lovely glow when I apply it as a blusher and, is inexpensive too! A little goes a long way, and it’s a great one to use for an everyday look, something I do – everyday!
This was on my “Desert Island” list and it’s made it back here for my end-of-year round up. Still use this everyday, as it keeps my sweat glands underneath my arms at bay, and doesn’t leave any white streaks on my clothes. I’ve grown accustomed to what I first found to be a rather slightly masculine scent and once I’ve put it on, the scent seems to disappear, so no overpowering lingering smells to interfere with my perfume. A great all-rounder and lasts all day.
So those were my absolute favourites for this year, and while the others that have been featured previously have not made it to this list, it doesn’t mean I’ve stopped using them. Stay tuned next year for more product trials and maybe even new Friday’s Favourites! What have been your favourite products to use so far this year? Share them here and maybe I might try them out too.
