Hair; can’t live with them and can’t live without them – well, it all depends on WHERE the hair is of course. Most of us would rather not live with hair on our underarms, legs, and yes, the nether regions. While there are so many ways of “grooming” our hair prone areas, my go-to way is via shaving. I’ve tried waxing once and no thanks to having not just hair coming off my underarms, I have avoided any form of waxing – even for my eyebrows. I pluck those instead.
So, shaving is my only saving grace really. While I don’t have sensitive skin, I’m glad though that there are products out there that can help people with sensitive skin. So this week, my Friday’s Favourites are some shaving products I’ve tried that would be absolutely helpful for those with sensitive skin.
I was introduced to Trishave at this year’s ABBW, during the Beauty Directorypresentation. The idea was to have a product that did everything without having to clog your bathroom shelf with too many products. Trishave is a 3 in 1 in the sense that it:
I tried this product right the very next day, after I received it. Besides being a tad bit curious, I also had brought along my crappy disposable shaver during my stay in Sydney, so what better time to try! I applied the creamy formula onto wet skin and lathered, after that I used the razor to shave. Easy. It glided easily, which meant there were no nicks or cuts (phew!) and there was a mild scent – the Tea Tree Oil I suspect. It washed off pretty easily and did leave my skin smooth afterwards.
I guess the great thing about Trishave, besides it being a 3 in 1 and cutting some time in the bathroom, is the fact that it’s so affordable and easily accessible. They are only $8.50 for a 100ml, which by the way would last you a long time because you only need a little and are available in Priceline, Coles, Woolworths and the Shaver Shop. I’ve also tried this on my bikini line, using it together with my Schick Quattro Trimstyle and the great news is – no in-grown hairs! Got to love that!
I have only ever used this a few times because I never saw the need to apply any moisturiser each time I used the Trishave 3 in 1 Shave Crème, but I tried it anyway, one day, after shaving my legs. The lotion is pretty light but is actually surprisingly pretty concentrated once you put it on. When I say light I mean light, looks wise but once you put it on you can feel how concentrated the formula is. The lotion contains Vitamin A, E, Evening Primrose Oil and Shea Butter to help hydrate your skin. I think this will be great in Summer, especially with the inclusion of SPF30+ and great for your hands too – well, mine at least.
I’ve shared with you my experience with the new Schick Intuition over here. Now, Schick have come up with their new Sensitive range. It still comes with the conditioning solid at the top like the original, the difference is what’s in the moisturising solid. The new Naturals Sensitive Care range has 100% natural Aloe Vera with Vitamin E. Like it’s original counterpart, I’ve used and love this and now, it lives on my bathroom’s glass shower door – just like the Quattro Trimstyle and the original Intuition. I think this is not only great for those with sensitive skin, but for those whose skin sometimes act up during the different times of the year – especially in Winter when it gets dry. The fact that this is also a 3 in 1 is yet another bonus. The moisturising solid lathers, the razor shaves and it also moisturises your skin. Perfect also for bringing on holidays or that weekend away. Schick is also running a giveaway at the moment on their site. Simply go to www.schick.com.au and check them out!
